Joan Furió Vivas

GUITAR TEACHER

Presently finishing his studies at the of GuildHall School of Music and Drama in London with Professor R. Brightmore, Joan Furió Vivas has performed as a soloist and in chamber music groups in concert halls across Europe, the UK and the USA including the Chapel of the Manchester Harris College (Oxford), Conservatori Municipal de Música de Barcelona, Barbican Centre’s Milton Court Concert Hall (London), Oceanografic (València) or The Bitter End (New York). He has upcoming concerts in London and Barcelona.

He has received prizes for his performances and been awarded scholarships from various British and Spanish institutions. Furió received an Honours Awards in his Major as a Soloist and in his Major in Chamber music when finishing his studies in Barcelona.

Joan has received masterclasses from world’s most renewed guitarists such as Pierri, Barrueco, Russell, Dyens or Brouwer.

Joan is the organiser and artistic director of the international Villa Margarita Music Fest in Spain. He is the former conductor of the guitar ensemble in the Orquestra Jove de la Selva, has been giving private guitar lessons since 2015 and has worked for a number of music schools as a substitute teacher.
